Gov. Gavin Newsom’s extended campaign of trolling of Donald Trump has been a hit with Democratic voters, and now it’s extended to the White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, and the Deputy Chief of Staff, Stephen Miller.

Newsom has dubbed Leavitt “KAROLYIN’ LEAVITT,” and posted a meme of the press secretary as the character of Effie Trinket from The Hunger Games.

After that, the Governor Newsom Press Office account took a shot at Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, depicting him as Voldemort, the villain from the Harry Potter series.

Per HuffPost, Newsom defended the trolling campaign in a news conference last week.

“We’re putting a mirror up to the lunacy that is Trump’s tweets, and his grift, the madness that is someone that would dress up as the pope and tweet that out or put his face up there on Mount Rushmore, or in a Superman costume,” he said at a news conference last week, referring to things Trump has actually done. “So I do think it’s important to put that mirror, that lens, back and have everyone reflect on it and say, ‘Have we accepted this as normal?’ Why aren’t we calling this out more clearly?”

Also last week, Newsom warned that Trump is likely serious about pursuing a third term, even though the constitution does not allow it.

“I don’t think Donald Trump wants another election,” the California governor said at a conference last week. “This guy doesn’t believe in free, fair elections.”

Newsom is also pursuing a redrawing of California’s Congressional districts, following Texas doing the same to help Republicans. That effort, last week, received a $2 million boost, in the form of a donation from Netflix cofounder and Democratic donor Reed Hastings. This has led to social media posts claiming that “Netflix” has donated that amount, and should be boycotted as a result, but the donation comes from Hastings personally and not from the company.

In addition, X reports that Netflix has signed Stephen Colbert to a contract are also not true.
