On Tuesday, Trump said he is trying to end the war in Ukraine because he wants a spot in heaven.
“I want to try and get to heaven, if possible,” Trump said. “I’m hearing I’m not doing well. I am really at the bottom of the totem pole. But if I can get to heaven, this will be one of the reasons.”

It was a bizarre moment. Trump, who has always presented himself as untouchable, admitted that even he is worried about where he ends up when he dies. And he tied his legacy in world peace to his chances of entering heaven.

He is 79 now, a man who hates being reminded of his age. He once said: “You know, there’s a certain point at which you don’t want to hear ‘Happy Birthday.’ You just want to pretend the day doesn’t exist.”
But mortality is catching up with him. He has spoken more often about his parents and whether they are watching him from above. At one rally, after his felony convictions, he told supporters: “Now my beautiful parents are up in heaven, I think they are. They’re up there, looking down. They say, ‘How did this happen to my son?’”
Other times he was not so sure. “I know my mother’s in heaven,” he said at Madison Square Garden. “I’m not 100% sure about my father, but it’s close.”
Now the same uncertainty seems to hover over his own soul.
Social media erupted. Some called it a guilty conscience, others just laughed at the idea of Trump in heaven.
Most DEFINITELY a guilty conscience… https://t.co/aADE8oB4np

The comments came as Trump continues his self-proclaimed mission to broker peace in Ukraine. He met with Putin last week, and this week with European leaders and President Zelenskyy.
