Harris Campaign’s Genius Troll: ‘Trump’s Punting On 2nd Debate’ Banner Reportedly Set To Soar Over Alabama-Georgia Game

At the highly anticipated Alabama-Georgia football game, fans will witness more than just the intense competition on the field. Above the packed stadium, a plane will fly by with a message directed at former President Donald Trump. Organized by Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign, the banner will read, “Trump’s Punting on 2nd Debate,” calling him out for refusing to participate in a second debate with her.

This creative stunt is Harris’ way of calling out former President Donald Trump for refusing to participate in a second debate with her. Trump recently turned down an invitation to debate Harris again, saying the October 23 date is “too late” because early voting has already started in some states. But many see this as an excuse for Trump to avoid facing Harris on the debate stage.

To make sure everyone gets the message, the Harris campaign is also running a national TV ad during the game. The ad makes a bold statement: “Winners never back down from a challenge. Champions know it’s any time, any place. But losers, they whine and waffle and take their ball home.” This is a direct jab at Trump for backing out of the debate.

Trump’s decision not to debate Harris again is getting a lot of attention. He debated her earlier this month, and polls showed that many thought Harris won. Still, Trump seems to be avoiding a rematch. His campaign argues that the second debate is scheduled too late, but behind closed doors, CNN reports that Trump has considered debating Harris one more time. Some of his advisers think it’s a good idea, as it could give him a chance to criticize her record over the past four years. But others believe Trump has already made up his mind and won’t go back on his decision.

During the 2020 election, Trump avoided the second presidential debate with Joe Biden. Trump didn’t want to participate because the debate was set to be held virtually due to COVID-19 concerns. Instead, he chose to hold a rally while Biden took part in a town hall. Critics say Trump tends to avoid debates or challenging public appearances when he doesn’t feel in control of the situation. His refusal to debate Harris again fits this pattern.

Debates are an important part of elections. They allow voters to hear directly from the candidates and see how they handle tough questions. Back in 1960, for example, John F. Kennedy’s strong performance in a debate against Richard Nixon is often credited with helping him win the presidency. Candidates who avoid debates are often seen as hiding something or being afraid to face the public.

Harris’ move to fly the banner over the Alabama-Georgia game is a smart way to draw attention to Trump’s debate dodge. The game will have millions of viewers, and with both the banner and the ad, Harris is making sure her message gets across.

Even though Harris won the first debate according to polls, the race between her and Trump remains close. Neither candidate saw a big shift in the numbers after the debate. But having another debate could help Harris pull ahead, especially if she uses it to show her leadership and ability to stand up to Trump.

As CNN’s Kaitlan Collins tweeted:

“When Trump is at tonight’s Alabama-Georgia game, the Harris campaign has arranged to have a small plane fly over Tuscaloosa with a banner declaring, ‘Trump’s Punting on 2nd Debate.’”

Harris is all set for another debate, but it looks like Trump is trying to hide. Will he change his mind? Who knows! But Harris wants everyone to see she’s not backing down.

In politics, the most daring and funny moves often steal the spotlight. With this big banner flying overhead, Harris is making sure Trump’s escape from the debate doesn’t go unnoticed.
