Hillary Clinton Fires Back At Trump With A Brutal Three-Sentence Takedown After He Claims To Know Her House ‘Very Well’

Donald Trump has shown this week that he cares far more about his ballroom and decorative choices than about most other political considerations. He’s also attacked critics of those decorations, including the fake freakout in the last week of the campaign, when former President Barack Obama compared the White House decor to the Cheesecake Factory.

This week, Trump traded barbs with another longtime political enemy, Hillary Clinton, over those decorations.

The former First Lady and Trump’s 2016 general election opponent, Hillary, criticized Trump’s “tackied up” White House decorations in August.

“It’s sad to me — it’s sad that it’s so tackied up, and it’s a reflection of, you know, his narcissistic personality and his need to feel important, including sticking gold embellishments all over the walls of the Oval Office,” Clinton told podcaster Kara Swisher in the August interview.

“This is a man who, his mind apparently goes to, ‘Where can I add more gold?’ instead of, ‘How do I get out of Iran without looking like the loser that I am?’,” she added.

When her husband was president, Hillary had overseen extensive renovations of the White House.

This week, Trump was asked about Clinton’s comments.

“She did? I don’t like her house either,” Trump told reporters.  “I know her house very well.” The Trumps and Clintons were once socially friendly, so it’s plausible Trump visited the Clintons’ house in New York at some point.

However, Hillary said on social media this week that Trump has not, in fact, ever been to her house. Less surprisingly, she made it clear that he’s not welcome there in the future, either.

Time magazine reported in 2016 on a Trump-related document dump from the Clinton Library which, among other things, found that Bill Clinton had considered sending Trump a card for his 50th birthday in 1996, but decided against it.
