Scandal-plagued and felony-ridden former President Donald Trump is on trial in Manhattan as we speak, where he stands charged with a whopping 34 criminal felony counts in connection to hush money payments made to a porn star during the 2016 presidential election cycle that he allegedly had an extramarital affair with and then attempted to hide by purchasing her silence to protect his chances at the White House.
Suffice it to say, it’s really not a good look — made even worse for a guy who’s facing an additional slew of felony charges from an additional slew of criminal cases against him across the country.
Given the circumstances and the mountain of damning info that’s already come out in the courtroom just days into the trial, it seems one of Donald’s own attorneys is already all but throwing in the towel, admitting that she’s less than optimistic about her client walking away from this case with a victory in his name.
This week, Donald Trump’s infamous Manhattan Hush Money trial has finally begun in earnest, after jury selection was completed last week and opening arguments from both the defense and the prosecution were presented on Monday.

Already, the jury of Trump’s peers has heard damning testimony from Trump’s old friend and former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker, who described to the courts a “catch and kill” scheme, in which he leveraged his publisher position to purchase the story of Trump’s extramarital affair from one of his alleged affair partners with the sole purpose of killing the story to protect Donald’s public image.
In the coming days, the jury will hear testimonies from alleged Trump affair partner and adult film star Stormy Daniels as Donald’s former personal attorney and “fixer” Michael Cohen, who was personally implicated in the hush money scheme and did jail time over his role.
On Wednesday, Donald Trump’s high-profile attorney Alina Habba made an appearance on Greg Kelly Reports, where she asked about the ongoing criminal proceedings against her client.
“How are you and what do you think tonight about everything?” host Greg Kelly asked the infamous Trump lawyer.
Habba’s response certainly did not reek of optimism for her ex-presidential client:
…I don’t have hopes really that high at this moment that the New York courts will do the right thing, that the jury will do the right thing. We’re in a blue state, as you know, Greg. And I think everything’s by design. We’re in a case that was eight years old, over the statute of limitations, was denied by [former Manhattan District Attorney] Cy Vance, then brought only after President Trump decided he was going to run for office.”
She went on to openly slam Judge Juan Merchan’s gag order against the former president and his legal team that bars them from publicly attacking witnesses, court staff, and their families — after Donald Trump made countless vile comments, with a particular interest in Merchan’s daughter, across his social media platform.
“It’s very troubling,” Habba told the Newsmax host. “We’re in the fight of our lives at this moment.”
