Authorities have identified the man who attacked a Dallas ICE facility. Fox News reported that he was a 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, citing law enforcement sources.
The report came shortly after a press conference on Wednesday. Officials said “early evidence” suggested the shooter was politically motivated.
FBI Director Kash Patel displayed bullets found near the shooter. One was engraved with the words “anti-ICE.” Jahn died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The New York Post also confirmed Jahn’s identity, citing law enforcement sources. Authorities said no ICE officers were hurt. Early reports suggested detainees may have been targeted. Later, officials confirmed that one person was killed and two others were seriously injured. Another victim is still hospitalized in critical condition.

This Dallas ICE facility has faced threats before. In August, a bomb threat prompted an arrest. Officials have said aggressive rhetoric against ICE agents may contribute to real-world attacks.
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem addressed the issue on X. Investigators are looking into Jahn’s background, messages, and social media activity to better understand what drove him to act.
