A woman appearing alongside Donald Trump at a roundtable event plied him with a wall of praise and claimed that in 2016 she prayed by her daughter’s bedside that he would become president. Trump was at the event in Smithton, Pennsylvania on Monday, fielding questions and plenty of compliments. He is, of course, hoping to do as well here as he did in 2016 by capturing Pennsylvania, which could give him a shot at recapturing the presidency.
The overly effusive woman larded Trump with praise that has to be among some of the cringiest things I’ve heard in a while.
“The last thing I wanted to say is my hardest job is not running three businesses,” she told the former president. “It’s actually being a mom to a daughter that’s here today.”
She added her daughter was in the room and asked her to raise her hand so Trump could see her, Mediate reports.
“She is not in school today,” the woman explained. “And she asked that she could be here and she could see you. I’m doing everything that I can to try to give her the truth every day. And I just wanted to say, and I told you that, eight years ago when you were running and she was just eight years old then, every night she would go to bed, and I would kneel on the floor next to her bed and we would pray every single night for you. And every night she would speak out to God, and she would say, ‘Dear God, please let Mr. Trump win, please.’”

Ew. That’s just creepy.
The problem with being eight is that kids are easily indoctrinated into their parents’ beliefs no matter how foolish or just plain awful those beliefs may be. If kids continually hear praise about a candidate or any other public figure, they are bound to believe it. When they grow older, they may question their parents’ beliefs, but many don’t. Some parents mold their children as if they are made of clay, modeling them to fit beliefs that have been handed down from one generation to the next.
The woman at the roundtable event explained that although her daughter couldn’t stay up to watch the 2016 election results, she woke her up when the race was called for Trump.
“But at two o’clock in the morning when we finally knew that you had won, I went into her bedroom,” she said. “I scooped her up out of her sound sleep, and I was literally – tears pouring down – and I said, ‘Baby, Mr. Trump won. ‘Baby, He won. He won.’ And she said, ‘Thank you, God. Thank you, God.’ And so she is here with us today. And I just wanted to let you know that we are still praying for you.”
Looks like this woman has molded a perfect image of herself. Maybe the daughter will start to question things when she grows older, but for now, this is just one sad story about how easy it is to influence a child. When this girl becomes an adult, will she, like Trump, hate people who don’t share her skin color? Will she hate people from the LGBTQ+ community, like Trump does?
Will she be as dumb as a stump, like Trump is?
You can watch this insanity here.
