Is there trouble afoot between First Lady Melania Trump and her stepdaughter, Ivanka?

According to a series of reports, as cited by Blast, the First Lady does not want Ivanka at the upcoming premiere of her documentary, Melania, which is scheduled for later this month at the venue formerly known as the Kennedy Center.

“Melania wants this night all to herself,” one source revealed, per Rob Shuter’s #ShuterScoop. “When the spotlight’s this dim, no one’s sharing it.”

The report added that Ivanka is “hurt” by the exclusion.

“It’s Melania, front and center, no interruptions,” another source said, per Blast. “She’s drawing a line. Ivanka knows her place.”

The Melania documentary, which was directed by Brett Ratner, was reportedly bought by Amazon for $40 million and will open in theaters on January 30 before eventually landing on Prime Video. It represents a comeback for Ratner, the director of the Rush Hour films, who was exiled from Hollywood after he was accused of #MeToo-related misdeeds, and Trump has reportedly demanded a new Rush Hour film be produced, once again with Ratner directing.

The first lady is a co-producer of the documentary about herself. The trailer appeared last month:

“Amazon MGM Studios’ film MELANIA offers unprecedented access to the 20 days leading up to the 2025 Presidential Inauguration — through the eyes of the First Lady herself. Step inside Melania Trump’s world as she orchestrates inauguration plans, navigates the complexities of the White House transition, and moves her family back to the Nation’s Capital.,” the advertising copy states. “With exclusive footage capturing critical meetings, private conversations, and never-before-seen environments, MELANIA showcases Mrs. Trump’s return to one of the world’s most powerful roles.”

“I’ve seen pieces of it, it’s incredible … she did a book, and the book was a big number one bestseller, and this is a movie, and it seems to be captivating a lot of people’s attention,” the president recently said of the film about his wife.
