February 17 began the Lunar New Year in 2026 and welcomed the Year of the Horse. In Chinese culture, the holiday is tied to family, renewal, and tradition. Colors speak, symbols represent tradition, and details define intent.

Ivanka Trump posted photos of herself dressed in white and shared a long caption about new beginnings.

“Today a new lunar cycle begins!

“The Year of the Fire Horse calls us to courage, to energy, to intention, and to fearless creation.

“It is a year for bold ideas, decisive action, and turning vision into something enduring.

“I am stepping into it with clarity and conviction, ready to bring forward projects I have been quietly nurturing, ideas nearly ready to meet the light. I cannot wait to share them with you!

“Forward, with strength. With gratitude. With purpose.

“Excited for what is ahead. Happy Lunar Year!”

The message sounded polished and optimistic. However, the outfit became the real headline.

In many East Asian traditions, white is linked to mourning and funerals. It represents grief and loss. During Lunar New Year, people usually wear red because red stands for luck, joy, and prosperity. It is seen as a color that invites good fortune.

As a result, the comment section filled up fast.

“Ever inappropriate, Ivanka,” one person wrote.

“Why’s she acting like this is her culture?” another added.

“They are so tone deaf that it’s almost comical,” someone else commented.

“She’s so boring. I guess she wants to be like the Kardashians or something,” another user said.

The criticism centered on cultural awareness. For many observers, the color choice overshadowed the message about courage and vision.

At the same time, not everyone was upset.

“I support her,” one follower posted.

The Lunar New Year post came shortly after Ivanka attended a fundraiser for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The event was organized by her brother, Eric Trump, who reportedly raised $50 million.

Ivanka shared support for him online and wrote “So proud of you.”

She also posted a video of her daughter riding a horse on the beach and added, “Get ready for the Year of the Fire Horse!”
