New reporting from Bloomberg News confirms that a civil lawsuit filed against scandal-ridden ex-President Donald Trump by multiple Capitol police officers who were attacked and brutalized during the infamous, deadly January 6th insurrection will proceed as scheduled, following yet another failed attempt by the former guy to weasel his way out of facing the trial.
Bloomberg News now reports that the scandal-ridden former president was handed down yet another brutal loss, in what has been a grueling series of them here lately, when US District Judge Amit Mehta unceremoniously shot down Donald Trump’s pathetic attempt to once again invoke presidential immunity that he does not have, in an effort to squirm his way out from underneath the damning lawsuit lodged against him by Capitol police whose lives were turned upside down as a result of the deadly January 6th Capitol attack that the former president played a very personal role in inciting.
The report reads, “The arguments raised by Trump and other defendants were ‘in large part duplicative of those the court already considered and addressed’ in a previous civil suit against the former president, Mehta wrote. In that case, Mehta ruled that Trump’s speech at a rally preceding the riot went beyond protections afforded by the First Amendment and those shielding presidents from civil liability while in office.”
The largest part of the case against Trump is driven by the corrupt ex-president’s open call for his mob of supporters to “fight like Hell,” a declaration Donald made during his infamous “Stop The Steal” rally just outside the Capitol, just mere moments before the riot would begin that ultimately left lawmakers inside the building fleeing for their lives, while Capitol police fought for their own.

The Bloomberg report goes on to add, “During the attack, 140 police officers were assaulted and rioters caused more than $2 million in property damage. The case brought by the Capitol police officers stands apart because of the long list of 20 defendants, Mehta wrote.”
It’s clear at this point that people are fed up with Trump skirting accountability and getting away with what he’s done. It’s time for this man to stand trial for his crimes. High time.
