Jared Kushner Has Reportedly Testified Before Jan. 6th Committee And One Legal Analyst Claims What He Said About His Wife Ivanka Could Prove To Be Critical In The Investigation

We just recently reported that Donald Trump’s own son-in-law, Ivanka’s husband Jared Kushner, was expected to voluntarily testify before the January 6th House Select sooner than later — a move that was almost guaranteed to leave the former president feeling extremely betrayed. Now, according to new reporting, it seems that Kushner’s testimony has, in fact, taken place before the House panel.

But an analysis from legal experts has left it looking like his father-in-law’s feelings on the matter may be the least Jared has to worry about once it’s all said and done, as the experts feel that way he may have to say about his wife may prove most critical in the end.

A report from POLITICO says Kushner “did not play a visible role in the former president’s attempts to overturn the 2020 election, though he was a top adviser during much of Trump’s presidency. According to a recent book by ABC’s Jonathan Karl, Kushner was involved in multiple conversations about how to delicately explain to Trump that he had lost the election and interacted with other senior administration officials who were exasperated by Trump’s refusal to concede. Kushner had reportedly steered clear of Trump in the chaotic final weeks of his presidency and was out of town until the afternoon on Jan. 6.”

MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace had the opportunity to question House Panel member Rep. Elaine Luria about Kushner’s testimony specifically.

“He was able to voluntarily provide information to us to verify, substantiate, provide his own take on this different reporting, so it was really valuable,” Luria explained.

But the most interesting analysis came when law professor and former Deputy Assistant Attorney General Harry Litman offered his thoughts on the development during a CNN appearance.

Litman was quick to point out that Jared Kushner’s name was embroiled in the damning text messages that were discovered between Supreme Court Judge Clarence Thomas’ wife Ginni Thomas and Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows.

“But the most important, I think, is Ivanka,” Litman theorized. “They can ask him things about her and we know that she figures centrally, she’s the person that people tried to prevail on repeatedly to have Trump call off the dogs. Just his testifying, I think, makes it more likely — or puts more pressure on her to testify. She’s in voluntary negotiations now.”

It looks like Jared’s voluntary testimony before the committee could serve to make things that much more troublesome for his wife, whether he meant it to or not.
