At any event this week in Wisconsin, Kelly Loeffler, the head of the Small Business Administration, introduced Vice President JD Vance as the “coolest” vice president in history.

Per the HuffPost, Loeffler stated, of the vice president, “you all know the story of his humble beginnings, and now he’s in the Oval Office as the second most powerful man in the world and probably the coolest vice president we’ve ever had.”

When Vance got up to speak, he addressed what Loeffler had said.

“I will say I took special note of one thing that she said, though. Kelly said that I’m the coolest vice president in American history. And I said: ‘Kelly, that is a low standard. That is a very low bar,'” Vance said. “But I do think that I clear that bar. But I think that was a low standard she set me to.”

While there’s no real way to measure cool, some truly notable people have served as vice president of the United States; the first three were John Adams, Thomas Jefferson and Aaron Burr.

Vance’s statement drew quite a bit of mockery online.
