JD Vance told another joke that bombed.

Vice President JD Vance, a man not known for supporting the sort of hawkishness currently being pushed by Donald Trump in the Middle East, has been mostly absent in the last two weeks.

The vice president resurfaced this week and told yet another joke that bombed.

“I can’t see any of you because these spotlights are glaring bright,” Vance said, during a speech to the International Association of Fire Fighters, in Washington. “The person who runs these spotlights must be a Democrat because I cannot see a single person in that crowd.”

The joke received… not many laughs.

It was reminiscent of a moment last month, when Vance told a joke at the Board of Peace launch, a shot at Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez that seemingly got not a single laugh in the room.

“I knew exactly what I wanted to say, but after the president said that I was so smart and that I didn’t want to repeat our congresswoman, who froze for 20 seconds over in Munich, now, I’m tempted, sir, just to freeze for 20 seconds and just stare at the cameras, and maybe, they’ll say nice things about me like they did about Congresswoman Cortez,” Vance said at the Board of Peace launch, on February 19.

One way that Trump has long found a way to connect with audiences is through humor, and it doesn’t appear that Vance enjoys that same gift.

There was some mockery of Vance’s latest unsuccessful joke attempt:
