These people have no shame.

Just when we thought the GOP couldn’t possibly get any worse, Republican Ohio House Rep. Jim Jordan reminded us that his morals are nonexistent and the bar for these people is under the floor when he responded to a recent statement from ex-President Donald Trump that clearly suggested the execution of campaign aides for Trump’s 2016 Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton — Jordan referred to Trump’s statement as “right on target.”

Recently, Jim Jordan made an appearance on Fox News, where he gave his raw reaction to one-term, twice-impeached former President Trump’s statement regarding a court filing hailing from the special counsel John Durham, according to a report from Business Insider.

The filing claimed that former Clinton 2016 presidential campaign aides paid a tech company to get access to Trump Tower, and later on the Trump White House, servers in an effort to track down links between Donald Trump and Russia.

Trump, of course, blew a stack over this new information, writing in a fuming statement that this new court filing “provides indisputable evidence” that the Clinton team spied on his presidential campaign as well as his presidency “in an effort to develop a completely fabricated connection to Russia.” This echos back to the war cries of Trump and many of his allies who incessantly claimed that the Russia investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller in 2017 through 2019 was a “witch hunt.”

“This is a scandal far greater in scope and magnitude than Watergate and those who were involved in and knew about this spying operation should be subject to criminal prosecution,” the ex-president fumed.

“In a stronger period of time in our country, this crime would have been punishable by death.”

During his Sunday Fox appearance, Jordan was quick to parrot Trump talking points from his statement, claiming, “That is what is so frightening here. You had the government working with the Clinton campaign to go after the Republican Party’s nominee for president to spy on that campaign.”

Much like every other Republican to open their mouth, Jordan of course did not back up his claims that the US government was involved in this supposed spying with any proof, whatsoever.

“We’ve never seen anything like this in history. So President Trump’s statement yesterday I think is right on target. This is truly unprecedented, truly something that has never happened in the history of our great country,” the Ohio How Rep. railed.

Durham was appointed to his special counsel position back in October of 2020 by none other than former Trump administration Attorney General Bill Barr, with the task of investigating the United States government’s investigation of the 2016 Trump campaign’s connections and ties to Russia.

As I’m sure you can imagine, this will now be the Right’s one and only talking point for the next 6-8 weeks.
