Trying too hard to fit in

Karoline Leavitt’s latest outfit is getting more laughs than likes.

Photos from Donald Trump’s trip to Israel showed the White House press secretary posing with colleagues in an all-black outfit and a silk scarf tied tightly around her neck. The photo, shared by Trump’s aide Margo Martin, looked normal at first, until people noticed the scarf.

It turns out Leavitt was wearing what looked like Gucci’s GG & Bee Printed Silk Twill Neck Bow, which sells for around $220. The scarf drew plenty of attention.

Critics claim that flaunting wealth is a big part of the MAGA fashion. Perhaps Leavitt was also just trying to follow the trend. However, the outfit made her look like a flight attendant, once again questioning her wardrobe choices.

One user, @kyleramz, commented, “@karolineleavitt could pass as a flight attendant here. Great job team.”

As a woman still in her twenties, many people were surprised that the White House Press Secretary continues to dress older than her age. Some said that if she wanted to fit in with her expensive scarf, she should have chosen to dress more according to her age.

One person wrote, “27 pushing 68,” while another commented, “My mom is 80 and has that dress, Karoline.”

Some think her fashion shift might have less to do with politics and more to do with her personal life. Her husband, Nicholas Riccio, is 33 years older than her, and a few critics have wondered if she is trying to match his style.
