Usually, incumbent presidents win a second term, but former president Donald Trump bungled his response to the coronavirus pandemic so severely that he was defeated. There were other factors, too, but that played a big part in it. The twice-impeached one-term president didn’t appear to want the job. He honestly didn’t even try to fight the disease that was pounding the United States. And he surrounded himself with inept individuals that, like Trump, refused to put on a simple protective face mask amid the raging pandemic.
Former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany is one of those people. On Monday, she used her role on Fox News to lash out at media members after President Joe Biden was reportedly seen answering questions without wearing a face mask. Biden has been consistent in wearing a mask while adhering to guidelines, but right-wing media noticed a moment where he wasn’t wearing a mask.
“What is he doing?” McEnany asked. “I mean, I was asked ad nauseam about President Trump anytime he did not wear a mask and follow-ups and aggressive reporters. Where was the question from the press when President Biden just said, wear a mask, why weren’t you doing so on Nantucket?”
“That was irresponsible in my view for that question not to be asked,” McEnany insisted. “But at the end of the day, no one has politicized this virus more than President Joe Biden. You have the mask-wearing incident there. You have Kamala [Harris] saying on the campaign trail, if Donald Trump tells me to take the vaccine, I won’t take it. You have Biden mimicking that rhetoric. Then they get into office. Yay! Take the vaccine.”

“It is the politicization of this virus on the campaign trail,” she added. “They dismissed the policies; they eschewed the policies they are now putting in place. They were always effective. Where’s the consistency?”
Watch:
Fact check: False. President Biden has not politicized the virus. Trump did that. And even his son, Don Jr., has been lashing out over vaccine mandates. The former president refused to wear a mask, and he danced to YMCA while Americans were dying. And Biden didn’t say he wouldn’t take the vaccine. He said at an ABC town hall last year that he would take a potential coronavirus vaccine if one became available by the end of the year “if the body of scientists” says it’s ready.
