Kellyanne Conway Might Have Destroyed Her Relationship With Donald Trump, Accused Her Former Boss Of Talking “Too Much About Winning 2020 Election,” Offered Praises For Trump’s Sworn Political Enemy

Oof. This won't go over well.

Following the news of her divorce from soon-to-be ex-husband and staunch anti-Trump critic George Conway, scandal-ridden former President Donald Trump has been quite chummy with his former strategist and White House adviser Kellyanne Conway, even going so far as to very publicly congratulate her on the destruction of her 22-year marriage to her “wacko husband.”

But I wouldn’t expect that public praise to carry on much longer once the big guy gets wind of this.

Kellyanne, the former Trump Administration senior counselor turned Fox News contributor, was on a recent episode of Fox’s America Reports, where she didn’t waste any time in opining that her old boss is wasting way too much breath on the long-gone and over-with 2020 election, and more specifically, his demented notion that he actually won that election.

If that weren’t bad enough for the big guy’s ego, Kellyanne took what was likely a fatal shot to Donald’s pride (although she likely didn’t mean it to be) when she heaped some light praises on her old boss’ sworn political enemy, FL Republican Governor Ron DeSantis who, despite having yet to make any official announcements about his candidacy, has recently shaped up to be one of the GOP’s favorite picks for 2024.

During the segment, Fox’s John Roberts made note of the fact that DeSantis is currently in Iowa — the “it” state for any potential presidential candidate, as Iowa serves as the first caucus state of the presidential primary. With that, Roberts cited a CPAC straw poll that showed Donald Trump winning in a landslide victory, but made sure to point out that DeSantis wasn’t in attendance at the event.

Roberts then asked Conway for her reaction to it all.

“I’m really happy that Ron Desantis and Donald Trump are out in Iowa and all over this country now bringing to bear the center-right message of America first policies, of center-right ideas,” the former Trump staffer said. “Contrast that to the two leaders of the Democratic Party, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. It’s Friday, John, which means they’ve already stopped working for the weekend.”

However, while Kellyanne praised both of the Republican front-runners, DeSantis included, she also offered up a heaping helping of criticism for the both of them, Trump included:

I think that Ron DeSantis has a really great, strong message as governor of Florida. What I do question is why he keeps talking about Covid. I don’t think people really want to talk about Covid. A little bit too much ‘woke.’ And Trump, of course, a little too much about winning the 2020 election, frankly. I like more insights, fewer insults.”

Now, from my vantage point, it certainly seems like Kellyanne was trying to talk about both of the Republican big wigs in the most neutral, impartial manner that she could — a lot of which likely has to do with the fact that she works for Fox and the network is currently buried eyeball-deep in lawsuits and litigation over peddling Trump’s bullshit election lies.

But you and I both know good and well that Donald Trump will never see it that way.
