Kimberly Guilfoyle Claims She’s A “First-Generation American” During RNC Speech Then Says Her Mother Is From Puerto Rico

She is fake news.

Donald Trump promised that the Republican National Convention would be “uplifting and positive,” but that didn’t happen on Monday when the RNC kicked off its first night. Fact-checkers must be thoroughly exhausted as a lengthy list of lies spewed from the speakers at the podium. Then, former Fox News host and Donald Trump Jr.’s current girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, took to the stage and screamed for about six minutes trying desperately to cast Democratic nominee Joe Biden and Sen. Kamala Harris as evil socialists — when, in fact, they are moderate Democrats.

Oh, and speaking of lies, Guilfoyle tried to claim that she’s a “first-generation American,” then noted that her mother is from Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, while her father, whom she described as “also an immigrant,” came to this nation in pursuit of the American dream. Her father is from Ireland. Puerto Rico is, of course, a U.S. territory, and you don’t need a passport to travel to the island, obviously. And neither Ireland nor Puerto Rico are socialist areas of the world, so we’re not sure what she’s talking about.

Twitter users took notice.

According to the U.S Census Bureau, first-generation refers to those who are foreign-born, so her father being from Ireland still doesn’t make Guilfoyle’s claim accurate since she was born in San Francisco, California. Republicans tried to paint former President Barack Obama as a socialist, too, which didn’t work out for them. He did bring the Affordable Care Act, the one Donald Trump is trying to eradicate amid the raging pandemic.
