The new White House press secretary, Katie Zacharia, had a rough debut earlier this week. According to The Daily Beast, Zacharia’s first White House briefing on Tuesday was marked by “stumbling over her words, barely answering any questions, and speaking slowly and painfully throughout.”

And this was made fun of by ABC late-night host Jimmy Kimmel on Tuesday night’s show, which included a new nickname.

“I want to introduce you to the new kid in Trumpland,” he said, calling it Zacharia’s “first day of kindergarten” and the new press secretary “a new fawning blond dolt,” before showing a clip of Zacharia at the White House podium, and comparing her outfit to that of a Delta flight attendant.

“Things did not get off to a great start for Malibu Katie today,” Kimmel said in his monologue, in his first show after the briefing.

“Her first briefing was brief. It was only 14 minutes long, but even in that short time, she accomplished exactly what she was brought in to do, which is slobber a whole tube of lip gloss all over the president’s behind,” Kimmel added.  “Her reading is good for an 11-year-old. He hired a fourth grader to be press secretary.”

“After her press conference this morning, a lot of people, including insiders at the White House, are said to be wondering how long this woman’s going to last,” Kimmel added.
