New York Attorney General Letitia James doesn’t just want Donald Trump to pay for his fraud crimes from a financial standpoint, she wants him to pay with his livelihood too.

In her newest court filing yesterday, in addition to the multi-million dollar fines they hope to lodge against the former president, AG James and her office are seeking a lifetime ban against Donald Trump from working in the New York real estate industry.

The damning letter was sent to the courts by Colleen Faherty, an attorney in Letitia James’ office, arguing that, under New York State Executive Law 63(12), the court is permitted to “issue a permanent and plenary ban in a particular industry.”

In Donald Trump’s case, this “particular industry” would be real estate, an industry on which Trump and his family built their entire empire in the Big Apple. The former president and his co-defendant eldest sons, Don Jr. and Eric Trump are currently neck-deep in James’ $370 million civil fraud trial, accusing the Trumps of over-inflating the Trump Organization’s net worth and the value of its various assets in an effort to obtain more favorable treatment from banks, insurance companies, and the IRS.

The former president and his sons have already been found liable by the judge for committing fraud in this case. The current court trials that have been all over the news cycle recently are only deciding the damages that Trump will be held accountable for, not whether or not he’s guilty of what James has accused him of.

The Attorney General is not only seeking a staggering $370 million in financial damages in this case, she wants to stop the former president from ever doing this again by banning Donald Trump from any involvement in the New York real estate industry for the rest of his life.

Trump continues to maintain his innocence, despite the fact that Judge Arthur Engoron has already ruled that the former president did commit fraud, claiming that the entire case is nothing more than a politically motivated witch hunt — as he’s known to do with any lawsuit or investigation lodged against him.

A final ruling on damages is expected this month.
