Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) suffered another humiliation this week when some of her aides were denied entry to a Washington Christmas party hosted by her disgraced former colleague George Santos, who in October had his sentence commuted by President Donald Trump.

A TMZ report that included video showed Boebert arriving at Santos’ party with a group of aides, although “the vibe shifted quickly when her aides got bounced at the door.” TMZ later followed up with the man at the door, who told them Boebert and one aide were “on the list,” but the others were not.

“He says George — the former New York representative who was convicted of identity theft and fraud, sent to prison, then pardoned by President Trump — was adamant he wanted everyone he had picked to be at the party … and if you weren’t chosen, well, nothing personal,” TMZ said of the gatekeeper.

It’s not clear from the TMZ report whether Boebert remained at the party or left with the staffers.

It had been in the news earlier in the week that Boebert has been accused of using campaign funds to fly to see a concert in Texas by her rumored boyfriend, rock star Kid Rock. This may have provided a potential point of conversation with Santos, who was himself accused (among other crimes) or misusing campaign funds.

The Santos Christmas party had been a topic of a truly bizarre segment earlier this week on Lindell TV, which touted “Santos Clause” as “A POLITICAL LESSON WRAPPED IN TINSEL” and put forward that it was meant to serve as a lesson for the sort of people who failed to stand by Santos when he was arrested, convicted and sentenced for his many crimes.

Journalist McCay Coppins described that segment on X as “a piece of MAGA media that’s so bizarre it’s almost impossible to process” and an “alternate-reality dispatch, a reporter for the MyPillow guy’s TV network(?) stands outside the White House(?) and talks for several minutes about how ‘everyone’ in Washington is clamoring to get invited to… a Christmas party hosted by George Santos(?)”
