Controversial Trump-appointed Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, who remains in his position to this day, apparently isn’t too concerned with pandering to Right-wing MAGA jockeys in Congress such as Lauren Boebert, and it seems the Colorado extremist Republican House Rep. is big mad about it.
This afternoon, Boebert let her grievances fly with the postmaster during a hearing with the Subcommittee on Government Operations as she alleged that folks in her Colorado district haven’t been receiving their mail in a reasonable, timely manner. DeJoy wasn’t really interested in Boebert’s complaints, as he claimed that a majority percentage of rural and urban Americans can generally expect to receive first-class mail in three to five days.
Boebert, of course, made quick work of pushing back against the postmaster’s claims, going on to further allege that her veteran and senior citizen constituents are not getting their crucial prescriptions in time as positions within individual post offices are going unfilled for indefinite lengths of time and many offices are being shuttered altogether.
“Some people did not receive a single piece of mail for three weeks in my district,” Lauren fired off at the Trump-appointed official.

DeJoy did agree that the area in question did experience a period of difficulty with receiving their mail on time — an issue that he claimed was rectified by a makeshift postal SWAT team that consisted of about a dozen USPS staffers hitting the ground to deliver the post and establish new contracts in the area. DeJoy blamed the problems on the catastrophic COVID-19 pandemic before going on to tell Boebert that her particular district likely has better USPS service than it did prior to the pandemic.
Lauren wasn’t having it.
Isn’t of dropping it there, the Colorado House Rep. went on to claim that she had been ignored by DeJoy when she reached out to him in October of 2021 for a meeting to discuss the district’s issues, only to be denied a sit-down with the Trump-era postmaster.
“I reached out to you personally and was denied a meeting,” Lauren whined in front of the entire hearing.
“Reached out to me?” DeJoy questioned.
“Yes,” Boebert doubled down as the postmaster acted as though he had not a single clue what the Right-wing nutcase was rambling on about.
Perhaps Lauren is a little out of it this week, what with her new divorce and all.
