Did you know that Donald Trump prepares his Truth Social posts by first typing them in draft form and then printing them?

That appears to be the case, based on a photo posted over the weekend.

According to The Daily Beast, the drafted post leaked from a photo, taken in the Oval Office, and posted on Trump’s son Eric’s Instagram story. A piece of paper was spotted on Trump’s desk, titled “DRAFT TRUTH,” and featuring a statement about storms in the state of Washington. Trump does not appear to have ever made a Truth Social post resembling the one seen on the paper.

“The State of Washington has been hit by unprecedented severe storms, flooding, landslides, and mudslides,” the post said. “Earlier today, to protect the great people of Washington, I approved an immediate Disaster Declaration, Emergency Protection Measures, and Direct Federal Assistance to SAVE LIVES. The federal government has deployed resources, and our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected. Thank you for your attention to the matter.”
This raises questions about what process is followed for Trump’s social media posts, and whether it’s typical for them to be written in draft form and printed out before they make their way to the president’s social network.

Trump did approve the emergency declaration for that state on December 12, but has not posted about it on his social media network.

Also on Trump’s desk at the time was a picture of the plans for his White House ballroom.

In addition to the lack of a statement about the Washington disaster, it was a relatively quiet weekend on Truth Social for Trump. The president posted a couple of updates on Saturday in relation to the Brown University shooting in Rhode Island, as well as a note that he was on his way to the Army-Navy Game, and a refusal to reveal who he’d be rooting for in the game.
