United States history was once again made after DOJ-appointed Special Counsel Jack Smith and his team formally indicted scandal-plagued ex-President Donald Trump on multiple charges related to the infamous stolen document scandal. This brutal indictment serves as the former president’s 2nd official indictment in a number of weeks, and his first formal indictment on federal charges stemming from the US Department of Justice.
Smith, on behalf of the Biden DOJ, has been investigating the former president for his role in inciting the January 6th Capitol insurrection, his attempt to overthrow the 2020 presidential election after his loss to Joe Biden, and the infamous stolen Mar-a-Lago document scandal, in which Donald Trump stole classified government documents at the end of his presidency, relocated the material to his Palm Beach compound, where he hid them, lied about his possession of the materials, and repeatedly refused to comply with government requests and subpoenas for their return.
But despite this long-awaited bombshell development, it seems that the corruption is already in full swing, as multiple reports have confirmed that none other than Judge Aileen Cannon has been assigned to the stolen document case — a highly controversial Trump-appointed judge who has made her MAGA support very public over the years, and has already attempted to blatantly swing this case into the favor of the former president throughout the document investigation.
ABC News reported:
Cannon’s apparent assignment would add yet another unprecedented wrinkle to a case involving the first federal charges against a former president: Trump appointed Cannon to the federal bench in 2019, meaning that, if Trump is ultimately convicted, she would be responsible for determining the sentence – which may include prison time – for the man who elevated her to the role.”

There’s frankly no denying the blatant and outlandish corruption that’s going on in this case, leading multiple legal experts to sound the alarm.
Former federal prosecutor Joyce Vance analyzed the situation on Twitter in a 4-part thread:
