Some of Donald Trump’s most notable associates and sycophants are about to find out if that blind, devout loyalty to the one-term, twice-impeached former president and his Big Lie was actually worth it, as breaking new reporting reveals that a host of Trump insiders have now been slapped with subpoenas by the Fulton County District Attorney’s office.
Channel 2 Action News reports that a special grand jury in Fulton County, Georgia, that’s currently investigating possible criminal interference in Georgia’s 2020 elections has now issued subpoenas to compel testimony from former Trump personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, Trump attorney John Eastman, as well as Kenneth Chesebro, Cleta Mitchell, Jenna Ellis, and Jacki Deason.
According to the Fulton County District Attorney’s office, the special grand jury is set to investigate whether or not Donald Trump broke Georgia state law when he called Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and all but demanded that the state official “find” enough votes to overturn Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential election win in the traditionally red southern state.
In a late January 2021 statement, Donald Trump said, “My phone call to the Secretary of State of Georgia was perfect. I knew there were large numbers of people on the line, including numerous lawyers for both sides. I didn’t say anything wrong in the call, made while I was President on behalf of the United States of America, to look into the massive voter fraud which took place in Georgia.”
