Many people noticed it came right after a weak jobs report. Employers added only 50,000 jobs in December. Previous numbers were revised too, showing 173,000 jobs lost over earlier months. Americans are feeling the pressure of higher costs.

Trump’s post focused on his private resort. Some of his supporters were confused. They wanted him to focus on jobs, money, and the economy instead of gold and luxury.
Many Trump fans online were frustrated. Comments ranged from short disbelief to direct anger. One wrote, “Who cares?” Another said, “How about those tariff rebate checks and I’ll give a shit about your entrance I want my money?” People pointed out the gap between Trump’s wealth and everyday Americans struggling to pay bills.
Looking at the numbers, it’s easy to see why people are upset. In 2025, the economy grew slowly under Trump. The country added an average of 49,000 jobs per month. In 2024, under President Joe Biden, the economy added 168,000 jobs per month.
Some economists say Trump’s policies slowed hiring. Tariffs and immigration restrictions reduced the number of workers. But this did not help U.S.-born workers get more jobs.
Many Americans are feeling the pinch from high prices. A recent POLITICO poll found 46% of adults say the cost of living is the worst they can remember, and 37% of Trump voters agreed with that. About 46% also say Trump’s economy and his administration are responsible for the high costs they struggle with.
At the same time, around 60% of U.S. adults say prices for everyday items like groceries and housing are still going up.
Those numbers help explain why even some MAGA supporters are frustrated. Many feel stuck between rising bills and slow wage growth.
