MAGA World Erupts After Pope’s Closed-Door Warning To Bishops Leaks And Rattles The Far Right

Far-right losing the plot

Recently, Pope Leo XIV privately warned Spain’s top bishops that far-right movements are more dangerous than secularism or economic instability. MAGA supporters did not take it well.

“I’m not even a Leo fan,” one critic wrote on X. “But this is just conjectural nonsense. No proof of any of this.

The Pope reportedly told the bishops last November to beware of far-right groups that “win the Catholic vote” by using faith for political gain. Afterward, Spain’s bishops reversed their opposition to clergy abuse compensation talks and backed legal residency for more than 500,000 undocumented migrants. That’s the largest regularization program in modern Spanish history.

MAGA didn’t like it.

The anger is familiar. MAGA exploded when Pope Leo refused to send delegates to Trump’s Board of Peace.

“Trump has done more for world peace over his two terms than the last seven Popes combined. Reality doesn’t care about your TDS. 🤣🤣🇺🇸🇺🇸” one X user posted.

Another added, “The same cartels burning down Mexico that Trump & ice Wanted out of America & deported & The pope demonised him for it. Pope was wrong.”

MAGA lost it again in October after the Pope criticized Trump’s immigration policies. He said, “No one should be forced to flee, nor exploited or mistreated because of their situation as foreigners or people in need! Human dignity must always come first!”

Conservative commentator Matthew Marsden said Pope Leo was “disenfranchising millions of Catholics” and warned he was tuning out, while another person argued that foreigners breaking a country’s laws should be held accountable and questioned how that counts as being exploited or mistreated.

The Pope hasn’t shied away from the U.S. either.

In January, after 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good was fatally shot by ICE agent Jonathan Ross, Vice President JD Vance said her death was “of her own making.”

“The gaslighting is off the charts and I’m having none of it,” Vance said. “This guy was doing his job. She tried to stop him from doing his job. When he approached her car, she tried to hit him. A tragedy? Absolutely. But a tragedy that falls on this woman and all of the radicals who teach people that immigration is the one type of law that rioters are allowed to interfere with.”

Pope Leo called Vance’s remarks “Orwellian.”

“It is painful to see how, especially in the West, the space for genuine freedom of expression is rapidly shrinking,” he said. “At the same time, a new Orwellian-style language is developing which, in an attempt to be increasingly inclusive, ends up excluding those who do not conform to the ideologies that are fueling it.”
