Man With Broken Leg Was Left $400 Lighter After He Spent Hundreds On Vet Visit Only To Find Out His Limping Dog Was Just Copying His Pain And Struggles

This is hands down, the cutest thing I've seen in ages!

One London man with a broken leg found himself £300 (about $340 US dollars) lighter but left our hearts a whole lot fuller after his sweet pup duped him into a hefty vet bill, only to find that his loveable dog was merely copying and trying to sympathize with his owner’s pain and suffering.

They don’t call dogs “Man’s Best Friend” for nothing, you know? Pups, young and old, have a way of bonding with their humans on a level that I don’t think we could ever truly understand or dare to even try to mimic.

London’s Russell Jones found this out the hard (and most adorable) way, after he suffered an injury to his leg, only to notice later on that his sweet best friend had developed a severe limp and seemed to be in harrowing pain.

Despite Jones’ broken leg that came as a result of a fall, he kept on keeping on when it came to making sure his Lurcher, Billy, still got his daily walks in. However, some time into his injury, Russell noticed that Billy didn’t seem to be in tip-top shape anymore while out on one of their daily walks. Jones noticed that his pup was walking with quite a severe limp, and refused to much weight at all on his left foot.

Russell even posted a video to a Lurcher dog group on Facebook that showed Billy walking alongside him, Jones with his leg in a cast, and Billy limping dramatically with his left paw lifted completely off of the ground. Frankly, the poor thing looked downright pathetic.

Of course, this concerned Jones, and he wasted no time in getting his best friend to the vet to figure out what was ailing the poor pup. Russell and Billy went through x-rays and pain medications over the course of 2 different vet visits, costing Jones almost $400 altogether, but still, there was no explanation for Billy’s suffering in sight. Ultimately, while they still had no official answers, the vet told Jones there was nothing else they could do.

Jones just couldn’t live with this answer and hated seeing his best pal in so much apparent pain, so he decided to run an experiment.

Russell decided to send Billy out to the garden with his wife, who just so happened to have two perfectly healthy, working legs. All of the sudden, Billy was running around and playing hard, with no limp in sight!

It was then that Jones realized Billy wasn’t hurt at all! As it turned out, Billy’s pain and suffering weren’t physical in nature at all, but rather a result of a bond between man and man’s best friend that was deep, Billy wanted to share in Russell’s pain and suffering.

Funnily enough, things managed to come full circle about a month later, when Billy had to have his dew claw removed, and was left with a very real limp for a few days. Russell posted another video to Facebook showing Billy’s awkward gait, and this time, Russell sported a pretend limp for his best friend.

Unfortunately, sweet Billy would pass away from cancer about a year after the broken leg fiasco. But we have no doubt that the joy and love he filled hearts with will go on forever.
