NBC News broke highly disturbing reporting today, citing law enforcement sources in New York, confirming that both the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the New York Police Department have launched an investigation over a letter sent to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg that not only included a terrifying death threat but also contained an unidentified, suspicious white powder.
This development comes as the Manhattan District Attorney’s office continues to investigate disgraced former president Donald Trump over a $130,000 payment made to adult film star and alleged former Trump affair partner Stormy Daniels in 2016 by Donald’s then-personal attorney and self-described “fixer,” Michael Cohen. Cohen personally gave Daniels the 6-figure payment and has told prosecutors and jurors that Trump instructed him to make the payment, promising to reimburse him, in an effort to by the porn star’s silence about her alleged sexual affair with Donald Trump just weeks before the 2016 presidential election that Donald Trump would go on to win.
Sources say the letter was addressed to Alvin Bragg personally and read, “ALVIN: I AM GOING TO KILL YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!” A small amount of unidentified white powder was included with the disturbing letter.
Officials confirmed that the letter did not spur any evacuations nor did it cause any injuries.

However, one senior law enforcement source said that the horrifying letter and powder were only just one of “several hundred threats” Bragg and his office have been subjected to in recent weeks, as the infamous hush money investigation heats up, and recent leaks and reports indicate that an indictment against former President Donald Trump is imminent. A number of the messages were considered by officials to be direct threats of serious harm against Bragg.
The DA has since sent out an email through his office, acknowledging what a difficult, trying week it has been.
“I know it hasn’t been easy,” Bragg’s email reportedly read, with all of the “press attention and security around our office,” adding a heartfelt thank you to his team for their “strength and professionalism during this time.”
“We will continue to apply the law evenly and fairly,” Bragg’s email to his office read.
Bragg’s office has since released a statement on the matter, saying that the threatening letter “was immediately contained and that the NYPD Emergency Service Unit and the NYC Department of Environmental Protection determined there was no dangerous substance.”
Sources have confirmed that markings featured on the envelope indicated that the message came from Orlando, Florida earlier this week. The source said that the envelope was postmarked on Tuesday.
The development comes on the heels of reports that Alvin Bragg has requested a meeting with the NYPD, as sources confirmed that New York authorities are already beginning to meet up and prepare the city’s security measures as officials brace for an impending indictment against Donald Trump.
