Marjorie Taylor Greene Responds To Trump’s Unhinged Easter Iran Threat

Too late for clean hands

Since leaving Congress in January after Trump renounced his support of her, MTG has been one of the most vocal critics of his Iran war from the right. An f-bomb and a praise to Allah on Easter morning was apparently not something she could scroll past.

Within two hours of Trump’s 8:03 a.m. Truth Social post, Greene posted a screenshot of it on X with a message aimed squarely at every Christian in the administration.

“On Easter morning, this is what President Trump posted. Everyone in his administration that claims to be a Christian needs to fall on their knees and beg forgiveness from God and stop worshipping the President and intervene in Trump’s madness. I know all of you and him and he has gone insane, and all of you are complicit.”

From there she turned to the war itself.

“I’m not defending Iran,” she wrote, before making the case anyway. “The Strait is closed because the US and Israel started an unprovoked war against Iran based on the same nuclear lies they’ve been telling for decades. You know who has nuclear weapons? Israel. They are more than capable of defending themselves without the US having to fight their wars, kill innocent people and children, and pay for it.”

The religious argument followed naturally from that. “On Easter, of all days, we as Christians should be reminded that the son of God died and rose from the grave so that we can be forgiven once and for all of our sins. Jesus commanded us to love one another and forgive one another. Even our enemies. Our President is not a Christian and his words and actions should not be supported by Christians.”

She closed by turning the knife on MAGA. “This is NOT what we promised the American people when they overwhelmingly voted in 2024. I know, I was there more than most. This is not making America great again. This is evil.”

Greene had plenty of company.

Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut called the post “completely, utterly unhinged” and wrote that if he were in Trump’s Cabinet he would “spend Easter calling constitutional lawyers about the 25th Amendment.” He added: “He’s already killed thousands. He’s going to kill thousands more.”

Senator Tim Kaine picked up the thread on NBC’s Meet the Press. “Bombing them back to the Stone Age, cursing them. This is all embarrassing and juvenile. What we really see from this administration is the absence of a plan, the absence of a clear rationale.”

Outside of politics the reaction was equally sharp.

Anthony Scaramucci, Trump’s former White House communications director turned fierce critic, posted: “It was at this point that our Founders thought the best thing to do would be to remove a madman who has the executive office.”

Piers Morgan kept it simpler. “This is embarrassing. Delete it, President Trump, unless you want everyone to think you’ve lost your marbles.”
