McCain Family Shocked After Pence Makes Reference To Trump In His Speech At Memorial

This was a despicable moment that Pence will never live down.

President Donald Trump did not attend Senator John McCain’s memorial service, and that’s probably for the better. Despite the fact that pretty much everyone else in Washington was there, the POTUS would not have been a welcomed face after his repeated insults and disrespect of the American hero, even after his untimely death.

However, the event was still tarnished thanks to Vice President Mike Pence, who had the nerve to mention Trump’s name during his speech — much to the disgust of McCain’s entire family, who was sitting behind Pence as he spoke. Fortunately, their faces were caught on camera:

Pence began his speech with this disgusting introduction, crediting the president with his presence:

The president asked me to be here on behalf of a grateful nation to pay a debt of honor and respect to a man who served our country throughout his life in uniform and in public office. And it’s my great honor to be here.”

If that didn’t feel or sound sincere, that’s because we all know that it wasn’t. Trump knows he has to save face after he botched every opportunity to honor McCain’s life following his death — and now he’s desperate to make up for it. Unfortunately for the president, we can all see right through this charade.

Sending Pence to do his dirty work has become routine for the president, and Pence should be equally ashamed of himself for uttering those words at McCain’s memorial service. This moment is one that’s going to follow Pence for the rest of his career, and rightfully so. It was disrespectful and uncalled for, and Trump deserves no recognition or praise after all that he’s done to insult McCain in life and in death.
