While Trump walked with world leaders and opened his new golf course in Aberdeen, Scotland, the First Lady was nowhere in sight.
This isn’t the first time she’s been missing. Since Trump returned to the White House, Melania has mostly stayed away. Reports say she has only spent two weeks in Washington since January.
She also skipped the State of the Union. She missed the Easter event. She hasn’t joined Trump when he walks to Marine One. And each time she stays out of sight, people notice.
One person on social media wrote, “They don’t have a marriage as we define marriage.”

Melania gave no reason for skipping this trip. Trump didn’t mention her either. But this has been going on for a long time.
There have been many public moments where Melania looked distant from Trump. She’s pulled her hand away from his. She’s stood behind him with a blank expression. He once held the umbrella over himself while she stood in the rain. And at many events, he walks ahead of her without looking back.
Even during Trump’s first term, she waited months before moving into the White House. Her team said it was for Barron’s school, but many people didn’t believe that was the full reason.
This trip to Scotland made it more obvious. Trump smiled for the cameras, gave a short speech, and even slipped into a strange Sean Connery voice. Melania didn’t join him for any of it. She didn’t post anything. She didn’t release a message. She simply didn’t go.
Some people gave her the benefit of the doubt. One user wrote, “She’s with Barron, getting him ready to go back to college, in NYC. Just like a lot of other parents/families all over the world.”
But others didn’t agree. They argued that Barron is 19 now, technically an adult, and shouldn’t need his mom hovering over every detail.
Melania has always been close to Barron, and many say she’s very protective of him. But even with that, her absence from such a major trip stands out. This was not a long tour. It was short, and it was mostly about Trump’s golf course.
