Melania Trump’s documentary, Melania, is set for release this Friday, and the First Lady appeared on Fox and Friends Tuesday morning to promote the film, and was also asked some questions about current events.

“We need to unify. I’m calling for unity,” the first lady said on Fox. She added that the president and Gov. Tim Walz and Mayor Jacob Frey are “working together to make it peaceful and without riots.”

“I’m against the violence, so please, if we protest, protest in peace, and we need to unify in these times,” Melania added.

There were some shocked reactions to what the First Lady said.

The interview followed the news of a shakeup of how the Trump Administration is handling the ICE operation in Minnesota, with Border Patrol “commander” Gregory Bovino removed from command and Border Czar Tom Homan installed in his place. Meanwhile, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and her companion, Corey Lewandowski, are said to be in hot water.

“The White House has softened its tone and reshuffled its leadership in its Minnesota immigration crackdown as the political backlash has grown and public approval for the administration’s aggressive immigration blitz has cratered,” Axios reported Tuesday morning.

As for Melania, one report says advanced ticket sales are “soft” for the first lady’s film.

“Boxoffice.com, a market researcher, projects $US1 million ($1.4 million) to $US2 million in opening weekend ticket sales for Melania in the United States,” the report said. “Ticketing websites show plenty of seats available for the January 30 debut and the days ahead. NRG, another forecaster, sees about $US5 million, according to the news site Puck.”

The film, for which Amazon paid $40 million, plus a reported $30 million in marketing costs, would appear unlikely to notch a profit.

Per Mother Jones, users of the movie-logging website Letterboxd are “pre-swarming” the Melania page with “amazingly mean reviews.”

Such reviews include “Lol. No,” “Nobody asked for this absolute piece of flaming garbage,” and “I heard all of her lines are taken from a Michelle Obama documentary.” Unless those users were at the White House premiere last week, it’s almost certain that they have not actually seen the film.
