Recently, Melania Trump visited a hospital to read Christmas stories to children. She sat quietly while the kids listened to “How Does Santa Go Down the Chimney?” Her voice was calm, and her expression stayed serious, giving the scene a very different energy than most expected.

Melania visited Children’s National Hospital in Washington, D.C., following a long-standing holiday tradition. Every year, the First Lady is invited to read to young patients and spend time with their families.

During the reading, Melania remained mostly still and focused on the book. She did not smile much or interact with the children beyond reading aloud. Her tone stayed flat, and her posture was stiff. The kids listened quietly, but the moment did not feel very lively or warm.

This visit reminded people of Melania’s role as First Lady. She often stays distant from the public and rarely shows emotion during events. Her “Be Best” campaign, about children and social media, has not made a strong impact.

Many viewers said she still seems uncomfortable or disconnected. Even though she reportedly speaks seven languages, she appeared unsure how to communicate in English during the reading, making the moment feel awkward.

Jill Biden and Michelle Obama were often praised for their warmth, humor, and friendly interactions with children during similar visits. Many noticed a clear difference in how Melania presented herself, compared to those who actively engaged and comforted the kids.
