Profiting off patriotism again

Melania Trump is back at it. The First Lady is selling patriotic Christmas ornaments again, two years after her first holiday collection.

Through her page, USAmemorabilia, she introduced the new “Celebrating America” line.

The ornaments include miniature versions of Mount Rushmore, the Statue of Liberty, and the Empire State Building.

There are also enamel ornaments of an American star, USA, and one called “Celebrating America.” Prices range from $75 to $90. Each comes with her signature and the option of an NFT, according to Newsmax.

This collection marks the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States. It is “limited-edition” and “handcrafted,” meant to celebrate history and American symbols.

Some may find it ironic that she is back in this business. Years ago, Melania criticized the White House holiday work. A leaked recording captured her talking to former aide Stephanie Winston Wolkoff: “I’m working … my a** off on the Christmas stuff, that you know, who gives a f*** about the Christmas stuff and decorations? But I need to do it, right?” Selling expensive ornaments now seems a little contradictory.

Collectibles are common for public figures, but Melania’s products feel more like a way to make money than a real celebration of America. She continues to push her personal brand while still serving as First Lady.

The ornaments are sold through USA Memorabilia. Each comes in fancy packaging to make it feel special. While they honor famous American symbols, some critics see them as overpriced holiday decorations.

Melania has been exploring patriotic products for a while. She first launched ornaments in 2023 and has experimented with NFTs and digital collectibles over the years. Her focus on limited-edition patriotic items shows she knows her market.

The new “Celebrating America” collection blends American history with holiday decorations and her personal brand. It targets collectors, history enthusiasts, and anyone ready to spend on luxury holiday items.
