On Monday evening, First Lady Melania Trump stepped off Air Force One at Joint Base Andrews wearing large sunglasses. The 55-year-old former model had just returned from Valentine’s Day weekend at Mar-a-Lago with President Donald Trump.

The dark sky made her choice of eyewear stand out. Photos show her boarding Marine One and later stepping onto the White House lawn, her eyes still hidden behind the shades.

Social media users noticed immediately.

Some even revived a long-debunked conspiracy theory claiming Trump sometimes uses a body double for public events.

The conversation about her evening look came as President Trump praised her documentary, Melania, which follows her in the 20 days before his second inauguration. “I’m proud of the fact her movie’s so successful,” he told reporters aboard Air Force One. “It’s a tremendous hit.”

“She does some very consequential work. I think you’re going to see in the end that she’s going to go down as one of the truly great first ladies when you see what she’s doing with Russia, Ukraine,” Trump added. “She’s done a good job; she works very hard.”

Earlier, the president sidestepped a question about Valentine’s Day gifts. “Better not tell you that. Goodbye, everybody,” he said, laughing. “That’s the toughest question.”

The film, produced by Amazon MGM Studios for $40 million and directed by Brett Ratner, saw strong initial ticket sales but experienced a steep decline in early February. Ratner, who previously directed Rush Hour, has faced sexual assault accusations that he denies. He also appears in photos released under the Epstein Files Transparency Act.
