Melania Trump is giving the public a rare look at her life, but one key family member will not appear.
The First Lady is producing a documentary with Amazon Prime Video. It follows her during the 20 days leading up to Donald Trump’s 2025 Presidential Inauguration. The film promises an intimate view of her life beyond the public eye. However, Ivanka Trump, her stepdaughter, is completely absent.
This absence is deliberate. An insider told Rob Shuter’s Substack: “Melania and Ivanka do not get along – not at all. There’s real tension, and Melania made it clear she didn’t want Ivanka anywhere near this film.”
Sources say Ivanka’s exclusion is intentional. “There’s zero love lost,” they added.

The tension between the two women is not new. During Donald Trump’s first term, Ivanka stepped in as an unofficial First Lady. Melania stayed in New York to focus on her son Barron’s schooling.
Stephanie Winston Wolkoff wrote in her 2020 book Melania and Me: “Ivanka rushed in to fill the void as ‘acting’ First Lady, issuing constant social media posts and press releases galore about her involvement with women’s issues… and attending every meeting she could slink her way into.”
Observers say the rivalry resurfaced in September 2025. Only Tiffany Trump attended a state dinner in the U.K. with her spouse. A source revealed, “Melania felt overshadowed by Ivanka during their 2019 visit. That wasn’t going to happen again.”
It seems the documentary is part of Melania asserting control. She wants the story told on her terms.
The project also marks Brett Ratner’s return to Hollywood. Ratner faced sexual misconduct allegations in 2017 and has kept a low profile since. He directed films such as Rush Hour and Hercules.
Amazon plans to release the documentary in theaters across the U.S. and select international markets on January 30, 2026. A Prime Video streaming date has not yet been announced. The release will also include a three-part docuseries.
Sources suggest Melania may host the premiere at the newly renamed Donald J. Trump and John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
The documentary promises an intimate view of Melania’s days before the inauguration. The decision to leave Ivanka out has already sparked curiosity. Fans and critics alike are eager to see how Melania presents her story.
