For the past couple of months, “divorce rumors” have been spreading about Barack and Michelle Obama. They don’t seem to be based on anything substantial, aside from speculation about Michelle skipping Jimmy Carter’s funeral and Donald Trump’s second inauguration and that the former First Couple appeared to be sitting far apart in a birthday message the ex-president shared to social media.

Another version of the rumor was that Trump has taken up with actress Jennifer Aniston. However, Aniston’s representation has flatly denied one and appears to have its origins in a satirical piece that ran in The Economist back in 2014.

Per Vanity Fair, there is nothing to the divorce rumors.

“A person with knowledge of the situation told Vanity Fair that these rumors are categorically untrue, and a source close to Aniston also characterized the affair rumors to VFas ‘beyond absurd,’ Vanity Fair reported. “There’s a conundrum for responsible journalists and exasperated subjects when trying to present the truth of a story like this one: If the people in question respond, they risk fueling the fire and stoking yet another leg of the news cycle. If they don’t respond and deny, then, well, they’re not denying a false report.”

Per The Daily Mail, former President Obama has included his and Michelle’s names on official statements recently, including while expressing condolences to those affected by the Washington plane collision last week. Kiah Duggins, a civil rights attorney who had at one point served as an intern for Michelle Obama, was among those who lost their lives in the crash.

The former First Lady, this week, made her first Instagram post in several weeks, in which she announced a new partnership with Reach Higher and the American School Council Association.

“Each and every day, school counselors are there for our students — offering wisdom, helping plan futures, and giving them the support they need to pursue their dreams,” the post said. “Some days, they are helping first-generation students get into college. On other days, they’re helping push them to imagine the kind of person they want to be. But most days, their critical work goes unnoticed. That’s why @ReachHigher and @WeAreASCA are making sure our nation’s school counselors get the shine they deserve.”
