Former Trump Administration Vice President Mike Pence is finally beginning to speak out on that fateful, deadly day at the US Capitol, nearly two years after Donald Trump’s mob of rabid supporters violently stormed the Capitol building in the then-outgoing president’s name, with the whole of Congress inside, in a rage and conspiracy theory-fueled attempt to somehow stop the Electoral College certification of Joe Biden’s presidential election win.
As we’re all aware by now, Pence was personally targeted by his boss’ mob during the January 6th insurrection, as a result of his refusal to go along with Donald Trump’s “plan” to refuse the certification of the votes, in an effort to have the issues sent back to the individual states, where he had operatives in place to overturn the election and keep him in power.
For a long time following that series of events, Donald’s former right-hand man remained largely quiet on the matter. But it seems Mike Pence is finally beginning to break his silence.
POLITICO has now obtained a clip of an interview that the former VP sat for with ABC News that aired yesterday, in which Pence takes specific aim at the infamous January 6th, 2021, Donald Trump sent out to his followers and supporters as the Capitol attack was underway, attacking his own vice president in real time for refusing to help him overthrow a United States presidential election.

Pence didn’t mince his words when he cited the infamous tweet, in which Trump attacked his VP for lacking the “courage” to go along with his plan, when he told ABC News that Donald Trump “endangered me and my family and everyone at the Capitol building.”
Later on in the interview, the ex-VP would go on to state that he felt the then-president’s social media post was encouraging actions that were flat-out illegal.
“It angered me but I turned to my daughter, who was standing nearby, and I said, ‘It doesn’t take courage to break the law, it takes courage to uphold the law,'” Pence said in the interview. “The president’s words were reckless. It was clear he decided to be part of the problem.”
Ultimately, and much to Donald Trump’s chagrin and dismay, Mike Pence did, in fact, oversee the certification of Joe Biden’s presidential election win, in his capacity as the sitting Vice President of the United States.
