There’s now more proof that Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is still alive.
The office of the Kentucky senator, who released a hospital photo earlier this month after about a month of silence, has now released another photo, once again showing McConnell with his wife, the former cabinet secretary Elaine Chao.
“Senator McConnell continues his recovery from a fall at home in June. OAP physicians visit with the Senator every day, discussing all aspects of his rehabilitation care,” the statement from McConnell’s office said.
“Since his discharge from hospital care, he has maintained a strenuous course of physical therapy and rehabilitation, including multiple sessions a day designed to rebuild strength and reduce the risk of future falls. His bout with childhood polio continues to be a significant factor in his mobility. He is not yet medically cleared to leave the rehab facility and return to the office.”

According to News Nation, McConnell talked more in the statement about needing to skip the annual “Fancy Farm” fundraising event this weekend.
“There’s no place I’d rather be on the first Saturday in August than with the good people of western Kentucky, feasting on pork and mutton,” McConnell added in the statement. “When I first attended forty-two years ago, Fancy Farm was a pretty lonely place to be a Republican. But, my, how times have changed. Today, western Kentucky is a conservative Republican sea of red. So I hate that I’ll miss the fun this year, but I’m sending my best wishes to the St. Jerome community for a successful picnic.”
The powerful Republican senator’s long absence, and the earlier photo, led to a surge in conspiracy theories, including that McConnell was either secretly dead or was otherwise not being honest about his health status. There were claims that the photo was AI-generated, or that it had been an older photo that was re-released by the senator’s office.
There was little evidence that any of that was true, however, and the new photo shows that McConnell is still with us.
