Mitch McConnell Took Hilarious Jab At Donald Trump With Gift He Gave To Fellow Republicans, Inscribed With One Of Trump’s Most Pathetic Nicknames For Him

Welp, that's hilarious.

Ex-President Donald Trump surely thinks he’s the king of nicknames when it comes to people he doesn’t like, or feels are somehow unloyal or have betrayed him in some way.

But honestly, each and every time he comes up with one of these off-the-wall monikers, worthy of no more than a 3rd-grade bully on the playground, he only really seems to embarrass himself instead of the person he’s attempting to attack.

A while back, we reported on the nickname Trump came up with for Democratic House Rep. Adam Schiff that Schiff and his daughter actually regularly crack jokes about. Now, it seems that none other than controversial Senate Minority Leader and KY Senator Mitch McConnell is taking a page from Schiff’s playbook, as he recently made one of Trump’s most popular nicknames for him the butt of a joke when he gave a Kentucky Derby-themed gift to his fellow Republican senators.

The Courier-Journal reports that Senator McConnell held a luncheon for senators in Washington D.C. earlier this week, where he gifted each and every attendant with a bottle of “Old Crow Bourbon,” with the labels featuring an image of the KY senator’s smiling face, giving a thumbs up.

Old Crow is a legitimate brand of bourbon made in McConnell’s home state of Kentucky. But this time, the brand name was a bit of a double entendre, as “Old Crow” is also one of Trump’s favorite insulting nicknames for the Republican Senate Minority Leader, as the ex-president regularly accuses Mitch of working against him to get President Joe Biden elected in 2020.

Of course, “Old Crow” just happens to be the most popular of Trump’s nasty nicknames for the GOP senator, who’s also been dubbed the “Grim Reaper,” and “Cocaine Mitch” by the now ex-president. But Mitch himself said Old Crow is his favorite.

During a Kentucky Chamber of Commerce event in April, Mitch said, “I wanted to thank him because this was Henry Clay’s favorite bourbon.” Henry Clay was a Kentucky congressman in the 1800s who was a vocal proponent of Old Crow Bourbon.

This isn’t the first time Mitch has leaned into one of his Trump-dubbed nicknames, either. Back in 2019, when the then-president slapped him with the “Cocaine Mitch” moniker, his campaign began selling t-shirts that played on the nickname.

As for the Kentucky Derby-themed luncheon, Mitch served up one hell of a southern Kentucky-style meal to his fellow GOPers, to go with all that Kentucky bourbon — consisting of fried chicken, biscuits, corn pudding, and fried okra.
