Just yesterday, we reported that Georgia’s far-Right Republican House Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene participated in a House Homeland Security Committee hearing in Texas, where she openly blurted out what one border patrol official said could have been highly-classified government intelligence and information regarding explosives that were reportedly found at or near the US southern border.
During the hearing, Congresswoman Greene attempted to make a dramatic spectacle out of confronting U.S. Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz regarding an alleged incident involving explosives at the border.
Greene’s outburst was in regard to what she claimed was “an explosive device found by Border Patrol agents on January 17th in an area called No Man’s Land,” adding that there was “surveillance of who put it there.”
However, multiple reports and officials have since confirmed that the “explosive device” Greene keeps referencing was not actually an explosive device at all, but rather a duct tape ball containing nothing but dirt and sand.
But ole Marge apparently ain’t buying it and instead has continued to make a complete and utter ass out of herself for, let’s be honest, the nth time, as she belligerently continues to argue with reporters and literal government officials regarding the matter.

AlterNet reports that the supposed “explosive device” actually turned out to be “filled with dirt, according to a Customs and Border Protection source who spoke to a Fox News journalist.”
But Marjorie Just. Won’t. Quit.
Chief Raul Ortiz, who serves as the 25th Chief of Border Patrol and had the great displeasure of finding himself on the receiving end of Greene’s unhinged tirade, published a tweet today confirming that the object found at the border was not a “threat.”
“Today, I testified before the Committee on Homeland Security & it was alleged that Agents found an explosive device near the border. During a Jan. briefing, leadership was notified that Agents found a duct-taped ball filled with sand that wasn’t deemed a threat to agents/public,” Chief Ortiz notified the American public in the Twitter post.

The QAnon congresswoman was not having it. Greene responded to Ortiz in her own Twitter post that was every bit as unhinged as we’ve come to expect from this nutcase, if not more so:
Thank you for your testimony today Chief Ortiz and I know you are explaining what you were told when you inquired about the situation after the hearing. Unfortunately, several Border Patrol agents are saying it was some sort of IED and there is video surveillance and pictures of a man placing the device. They say that is why agents were sent to retrieve it in the area known as No Man’s Land.
This is an area controlled by the Cartels according to BP and with the shortage of agents they aren’t just walking around out there to randomly just find something like this. According to them, they were told later that it was some sort of explosive, not filled with sand. I’m just explaining what I was told today and with the extreme dangerous border crisis and threat from Cartels, I’m very concerned about our agents.”

Fox News contributor Sara A. Carter took to Twitter to confirm the information she received regarding the object being full of dirt and sand:
The people I spoke with today say the agents involved were not told at the time that it was a ball filled with sand. in fact, the source said that the supervisors described it as a “Mexican firecracker” the next day on Jan. 18. They were also told not to discuss it publicly,… https://t.co/INwpIxB67y

But this only caused Marjorie to double down:
If the device in question was just filled with sand then why would Chief Ortiz tell me during his testimony that he was briefed about it in a SCIF and couldn’t comment on classified information, then turn around afterwards and tweet a picture of it claiming it was filled with… https://t.co/MJi3bcGKew

When I say this woman will argue about anything just to hear herself speak, I mean literal dirt.
