Marjorie Taylor Greene spent 6 years as one of Donald Trump’s most devoted defenders. She backed him through two impeachments, a felony conviction and everything in between.
On Wednesday, she appeared on Alex Jones’s Infowars show and called for the Republican Party to be “burned to the ground,” adding, “We have to be realistic about the Republican Party. It’s completely controlled.”
The Iran war broke whatever was left of her loyalty.
“How can any person that is mentally stable call for an entire civilization of people to be murdered, to be wiped out, to never come back again?” she told CNN. She has been asking that question loudly and publicly for days.

“You may have supported President Trump for 10 years, like I did and like you have, but this is not the same man,” Greene told Jones.
“We have supported this man through thick and thin. He was indicted. They convicted him, a convicted felon. They impeached him. All the things that happened, we supported him through thick and thin, and that has glued people to think they have to support him through anything and everything.”
Her breaking point was Trump’s Easter Sunday post threatening to destroy an entire civilization, signed off with “Praise be to Allah.” “You don’t have to be in a cult where you can’t call it out,” she said. “It’s turned into a cult where the Trump administration, the president himself, and everyone around him, demands cult-like worship.”
Greene accused Trump of “leading our military to fight a war on behalf of Israel” and tore into the influence of Fox News host Mark Levin and megadonor Miriam Adelson, the Tel Aviv-born widow of casino billionaire Sheldon Adelson.
She said Congress was “controlled by AIPAC and by Zionists,” then clarified she was talking about the “secular government of Israel, not Jewish people.” Greene has a long history of antisemitic remarks, including promoting a conspiracy theory about Jewish people controlling a space laser to start wildfires, so the clarification did not land cleanly.
Their falling out has been public and bitter. Trump has taken to calling her “Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Brown” on Truth Social, mocking her departure from Congress. Greene has said she reported over 773 death threats and linked Trump’s rhetoric directly to the threats her family has received.
She is not alone in the revolt. Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens and Alex Jones have all broken with Trump over Iran. Greene and Jones said Wednesday they would continue criticizing Trump in the hopes of drawing supporters away.
Greene also reached across the aisle, telling Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna she was open to building a “strong populist coalition of the right and left.”
