MTG Responds To Criticism From Trump That ‘She’s Lost Her Way’ And It Almost Makes Her Sound Sane

She’s sticking to her guns

It’s not every day that Donald Trump and Marjorie Taylor Greene trade jabs. But this week, the once inseparable duo found themselves on opposite ends of a strange little feud — one about faith, focus, and apparently, foreign leaders.

On Monday, President Trump took a swing at his longtime ally, suggesting she had gone a bit off course.

“I don’t know what happened to Marjorie, nice woman, but she’s lost her way, I think,” Trump said from the Oval Office after meeting with Syria’s leader and swearing in a new ambassador to India. “I see the presidency as a worldwide situation.”

The jab came after Greene accused the president of paying more attention to world affairs than to the rising cost of living at home. She told NBC News that “watching the foreign leaders come to the White House through a revolving door is not helping Americans.”

She added that prices “remain too high,” a statement that probably rang true for anyone buying eggs this week.

Trump’s remark didn’t sit well with the Georgia congresswoman. She fired back on X the next morning with a post saying;

“The only way is through Jesus. That’s my way, and I’ve definitely not lost it,” she wrote. “I’m working hard to put my faith into action. My job title is Representative. That’s for Georgia’s 14th district and the American people, no one else. America First America Only!!!”

For someone often known for loud moments and louder opinions, it was a surprisingly calm reply. Almost… reasonable.

The timing of their public spat couldn’t be worse for Republicans. Last week’s off-year elections saw Democrats gain ground in Virginia and New Jersey, while polls showed inflation as voters’ biggest headache. Some in Trump’s camp worry that GOP leaders are losing touch with what matters most to everyday families.

Still, Greene hasn’t exactly been quiet about her frustrations with her own party. On The View last week, she said Congress had turned into a “pissing contest in Washington, D.C., between the men,” adding that it was time for “women of maturity” to “sew this country back together.”
