So much for “America First.”

The woman who once called herself Trump’s most loyal ally watched his Iran war speech Wednesday night. Then she opened X.

“I wanted so much for President Trump to put America First. That’s what I believed he would do. All I heard from his speech tonight was WAR WAR WAR.”

She kept going.

“Nothing to lower the cost of living for Americans. Nothing to reduce our near $40 trillion in debt. Nothing to save Social Security, which goes bankrupt in just a few years. Nothing to lower the cost of insurance. Nothing to address jobs for Americans. Nothing about education for our children. Nothing about our children’s future. Nothing for America’s future.”

She signed off with five words. “I’m so beyond done.”

Greene is the woman who once carried Trump’s picture to Congress. She resigned her seat in January over the Epstein files. Wednesday night she was watching his speech from the outside, and what she saw confirmed everything she has been saying for months.

The speech itself gave her a lot to work with. Trump opened by congratulating NASA on the Artemis II moon mission, then pivoted to the war. He claimed Iran posed an imminent threat to American troops, bases, and allies.

He said the operation was “on track to complete all of America’s military objectives shortly, very shortly.” He threatened that if no deal is reached, “we are going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks. We are going to bring them back to the stone ages where they belong. In the meantime, discussions are ongoing.”

Stone age threats and ongoing discussions. In the same breath.

He also told the country the federal government could not fund basic services. “It’s not possible for us to take care of daycare, Medicaid, Medicare, all these individual things,” Trump said. “They can do it on a state basis.”

Representative Ted Lieu posted that quote within minutes. “Democrats believe in taking care of daycare, Medicaid, Medicare, all these things. Republicans and trump obviously do not. November is coming.”

Joe Kent, who walked out of his counterterrorism job over this war, kept his message short. “The best time to get out of a war of choice is now, before we lose more lives.”

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer called the address “rambling, disjointed and pathetic.”

Senator Andy Kim went further. “For more than a month now, the American people have been paying for a war that Donald Trump chose to bring us into. It has been an absolute disaster. He keeps telling us the war is about to end, but those are just lies.”

Hours before the speech, Kamala Harris posted her own preview. “He has put American troops in harm’s way. Costs are rising by the day and, meanwhile, he has done nothing to address the needs of the people of America.”

Wall Street delivered its own review. Dow futures slid more than 260 points as Trump finished speaking.
