MTG Turns On Fox News, Brands It ‘Fake News’ In Scathing Attack

The network that spent years calling everyone else fake news just got the label turned back on itself. By one of its most frequent guests.

Marjorie Taylor Greene, the former Georgia congresswoman who quit Congress in January after a public falling out with Trump over the Epstein files, went after Fox News on Sunday in a post that would have been unthinkable eighteen months ago. “Fox News is now the fake news,” she wrote on X. “Brainwashing boomers to support what we voted against.”

She was responding to Ann Coulter, who said it with even less restraint.

“Watching Fox News assure viewers the Iran war is going SUPER well and Trump is a total stud is like watching the same network assure viewers that Dominion Voting Systems rigged the 2020 election and Trump was the winner,” Coulter wrote.

That comparison hits harder than most.

Fox paid Dominion $787.5 million in 2023 after a judge ruled those election claims were false. The network that told its audience the election was stolen is now telling them the Iran war is a triumph. Coulter’s point essentially wrote itself.

What pushed Greene over the edge was the news that Trump and the Pentagon have drawn up plans for full ground operations in Iran, potentially involving special forces raids and conventional infantry. There are already 3,500 U.S. troops in the region with thousands more on the way. 62% of Americans oppose a ground war. Greene is not just one of them. She has been screaming about it for weeks.

Earlier in the week she posted: “Americans don’t give a damn about Trump building a WH ballroom or renovating the Kennedy Center as they are paying $4+ dollars per gallon for gas and nearly $6 for diesel because of another pointless foreign war.” She added: “Don’t lecture your voters that you have to vote for them when you have intentionally failed and betrayed your campaign promises just because the other side is intolerable. Screw you. You betray Americans, you put Americans last, you deserve to lose, you don’t deserve support.”

She also told CNN recently that she once thought Trump deserved the Nobel Peace Prize. “Do I think he deserves it now? No. Absolutely not.”

Greene is not alone in this corner.

Tucker Carlson has accused Fox of using Iran coverage “to scare old people into obedience.” Steve Bannon has been critical.

Alex Jones posted footage on Sunday claiming to show civilian destruction in Tehran and called it “a war CRIME!”

Even former Fox host Megyn Kelly said on her SiriusXM show that sending troops into Iran means Republicans cannot win an election “in the next 10 to 20 years.”

Fox host Mark Levin represents the other side of this internal war, loudly. He called Greene a “shameless nitwit,” said she was “incredibly dumb,” and posted “MTG, God are you stupid” on X.

He also called Steve Bannon a “disgusting fraud.” Greene fired back that nobody watches Levin’s show and that his “screeching is absolutely unbearable.” Trump sided with Levin, going after Republican Congressman Thomas Massie on Truth Social as “not MAGA” and demanding he be removed from office.

The White House called Greene a “quitter” who abandoned her constituents mid-term. Greene called the administration “sick lying liars” who delivered “America LAST.”

A YouGov-Economist survey from March 10 found 91% of MAGA voters still support the war. The fracture is not with the base. It is with the people who built the movement’s media infrastructure and are now watching it be used for something they say they never signed up for.
