Video footage and photos from this year’s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) are spreading across social media like wildfire and so far, it certainly seems to be nothing short of a Republican ghost town, with the small crowds that did show up seeming to largely consist of a very particular demographic — old and pasty white.
While the conference hasn’t been carried by a ton of reputable networks, C-SPAN has been airing a lot of the panels taking place at the conservative event, and suffice it to say, the various camera pans of the crowds are showing a whole lot of empty seats among a smattering of old white folks.
The CPAC demographic in a nutshell.

Huffington Post White House correspondent S.V. Dáte posted a tweet pointing out that the exhibit hall appeared to have an influx of open, available stalls and spaces for vendors that didn’t sign up for or show to this year’s CPAC event, amid all of the GOP turmoil these days.
If anyone needs exhibit space through Saturday in suburban DC, you may want to check in with CPAC.

Apparently, it wasn’t just the main conference hall that heard crickets throughout the event, as Donald Trump Jr.’s “Make America Great Again” booth — where the eldest and most sycophantic Trump son sat perched before a gigantic mock-up photo of the White House — wasn’t exactly drawing in the masses either”
Unclear if they will be making a mock-up of the Fulton County courthouse or the US District court in DC in the coming months. pic.twitter.com/TZjpfkFb1H

Multiple accounts have taken to Twitter throughout the CPAC event to highlight the less-than-stunning turnout:
The crowd size at #CPAC2023 is…not good

Even their dating app booth — a Right-wing dating app called “The Right Stuff” that doesn’t offer same-sex matching options — wasn’t having what we’d call a good time:
Chatted w/ Johnny McEntee of the right-wing dating app @daterightstuff at CPAC about why they don’t yet allow same-sex pairings.
“We’re having a hard enough time as it is right now.”
I pointed out that if anyone needs this, it’s gay Republicans.

It certainly seems as though Donald Trump has managed to almost single-handedly drag his entire political party into the pits.
