According to live update reporting from NPR today, scandal-ridden former President and presumptive 2024 Republican nominee Donald Trump is slated to formally announce his choice for vice president and running mate on his November ticket this evening, less than 48 hours after an assassination attempt was made on his life.
However, after a new video went viral on social media, amateur sleuths seem to believe they’ve already got it figured out.
Trump reportedly confirmed the impending announcement to Fox News’ Brett Baier. Additionally, NBC News reports that two senior campaign officials confirmed the formal announcement will come at 3:30 p.m. CT. today, with the MAGA running mate making a dramatic appearance when the vice presidential nomination process starts at the Republican National Convention that’s running this week.
Recent reports have indicated that Donald was down to three contenders — Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, and Gov. Doug Burgum of North Dakota. However, Trump and his team have kept their process and thoughts on the matter extremely close to the vest throughout his campaign season, regularly teasing the notion, but never doing anything to solidify any confirmation.

Now, a video clip is spreading like wildfire across social media that has many Americans convinced that Donald’s pick is none other than highly controversial Ohio lawmaker J.D. Vance after he was spotted departing his Ohio home with a motorcade to the RNC:

This theory actually lines up with current reporting, as NBC noted that, according to four separate sources, both Rubio and Burgum have been notified by Trump Campaign officials that they’re out of the running.
NBC reports: “Rubio was told early Monday afternoon, just hours before the pick was to be made public, that he would not be the selection.”
The source told the outlet that Rubio got the ‘not you’ call.”
