According to breaking reporting, the New York Post found their website and Twitter account hacked by what the publication described as a “rogue employee” today, who was responsible for flooding the site and social media account with “vile and reprehensible” content.
The publication gave a statement to Mediate on the disturbing matter, confirming that the company originally believed that the incident was initially believed to be the work of a hacker, however, a prompt investigation determined that the attack was perpetrated by a rogue employee with the publication.
“The New York Post’s investigation indicates that the unauthorized conduct was committed by an employee, and we are taking appropriate action,” the New York Post said in their statement on the disturbing incident. “This morning, we immediately removed the vile and reprehensible content from our website and social media accounts.”
The rogue Post employee had access to the tabloid’s Twitter account, but also to the backend of the website, posting a story about Ben Shapiro and his recommendation to have New York Democratic House Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez assassinated.

Multiple other posts and articles from the publication were edited by the rogue employee to bear outrageous and deeply disturbing fake headlines, which they then republished to the New York Post’s official social media account. The attack reportedly started around 9 a.m. ET this morning, when the publication’s Twitter account posted a supposed article on Shapiro, with the bombastic headline, “We must assassinate AOC for America.”
That particular story was almost immediately deleted from their Twitter account, but multiple other outlandish stories and headlines remained on their feed.
Mediaite reports, “Other deleted tweets included horrific fake headlines about New York gubernatorial candidates Lee Zeldin and Kathy Hochul, New York City Mayor Eric Adams, as well as a fake column of Miranda Devine calling for Joe and Hunter Biden to be executed.”
“Mediaite confirmed that the text of the Shapiro ‘assassinate AOC’ piece matched an old piece from the Post editorial board on Ocasio-Cortez’s connection to Biden’s polling struggles.”
