Politics can be messy

The president of New York University’s College Republicans, Kaya Walker, has stepped down after calling Barron Trump an “oddity” on campus. In an unexpected twist, the group is inviting Barron himself to join their ranks.

Walker commented during an interview with Vanity Fair, which explored Barron Trump’s life as a freshman at NYU. She said, “He’s sort of like an oddity on campus. He goes to class, he goes home.” While that might sound harmless to some, it sparked considerable controversy.

After the comment made headlines, the College Republicans of America (CRA) distanced themselves from Walker’s words. They stated that her remarks “do not align with the values and principles upheld by our organization.”

Walker, an international relations and French major, submitted her resignation soon after.

Barron, who turned 19 this year, has kept a low profile at NYU. According to various reports, he doesn’t socialize much and prefers playing video games or soccer with classmates rather than hanging out at campus events. One NYU student even told TMZ, “He hardly exists.” However, some of his peers have suggested he’s a ladies’ man. While his father, Donald Trump, said in an interview that he “doesn’t think” Barron has had a girlfriend yet, other sources claimed he is pretty popular with female students. Who’s telling the truth? That’s a mystery for now.

The comment calling Barron an “oddity” might not have been meant as an insult, but it certainly upset people. Some conservatives felt it was inappropriate, while others saw it as an unfair characterization of a private young man.

And here’s where things take a wild turn: instead of just moving on, the CRA publicly invited Barron Trump to join their group!

So far, Barron or his parents have not officially responded to the comment or the invitation to join the College Republicans. However, knowing how vocal the Trump family can be, it wouldn’t be surprising if Donald or Melania had something to say soon.

With Walker gone, the NYU College Republicans are looking for a new president. Will Barron accept their invitation? Given his reputation for avoiding the spotlight, it seems unlikely.

However, if he does step into politics, he certainly has the Trump genes to make an impact. A source close to the family said, “I see all the attributes of a future President if he has the appetite for it. And why not? He has the Trump genes.”

For now, Barron seems content staying in his lane—attending class, playing FIFA, and keeping his personal life as private as possible.

But as history has shown, you never know what will happen next to the Trump family!
